It’s like they deliberately hire attractive people my age as service staff to make me feel even more awkward.

You can totally train yourself to laugh at that feeling. Have you seen that tiktok of a French woman who accidentally stains her teeth with cumin then spends the whole day smiling at people without realizing?

It’s a sick way of living where you can turn that agony into humor at your own expense. It’s great! I wholly recommend it, since I am an individual of constant failed seriousness and have to face the horrors of my own ineptitude every day.

Try watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. That’s a good way to experience it.

Thank you🌸
I say this with kindness, no one is thinking about what you’re doing while they are in public. Unless you have started a conversation with someone you might as well be furniture with eyeballs. And like sad detective said make jokes at your own expense when you do a human thing like flub a word or knock something over. To me thats extremely attractive when someone can turn an awkward moment into a reason to laugh
The other day at work my manger asked me to drop something off at a location I knew of, but they used a name for the location I had never heard. Not wanting to admit I didn’t know where that was, I figured I’d ask a coworker who’d been there longer than I have if they knew. Well, they didn’t. In fact, nobody else I asked who I thought would know had any idea either. It was like a nightmare. I had to go back to my manager and ask where it was and look like some sort of moron. We laughed about it, but goddamn, I try and look like I got it together for one minute and that’s what happens. :l
