I just want to point out I started typing this questionnaire before https://www.businessinsider.com/tim-cook-response-trump-relationship-criticism-2026-3 went live, and timestamps have us within 10 minutes of each other. I had not seen that and this wasn't a take on that.
But having posted, giving my feed a quick scroll, I just saw that article's headline (haven't read it proper).

"I'm not a political person on either side," Cook said. "I'm not political."
That... that's not what political means. That's what partisan means.
Tim Cook isn't stupid. He knows what words mean. Saying that, like that, is talking like a politician - lying softly or misleading without stating an obvious falsehood.
He's being a snake in plain sight:
"What I do is I interact on policy, not politics," Cook [said]
But politics is literally policy-making. That's... that's what they do. They don't do enforcement, they don't do labour, they just decide on the rules. That's literally the job.
"If you looked at your iPhone today, the front cover and the back cover, all of that glass will be coming out of Kentucky by the end of this year,"
Moving manufacturing to the USA is a political choice at the same time as being a business choice!
