Habe es über verschlungene Umwege (Newsletter, RSS, Parsing) hinbekommen, den New Yorker Daily Cartoon in #HomeAssistant einzubinden.
So kann der dann natürlich auch zum Kindle etc…

Jetzt teste ich mal, ob sich das brav jeden Tag aktualisiert und auch nicht kaputt geht.

Hurra, es funktioniert! Der neue Cartoon kommt gegen Abend automatisch auf den Kindle und er sieht gut aus.

Das ist so wackelig gebaut, dass ich mir nicht sicher bin, ob es zwei Wochen oder 10 Jahre hält. #homeassistant #newyorker

@web_martin interesting, are you displaying a #HomeAssistant dashboard in a web browser ? Does it refresh automatically ?

@nicobo no, it’s a static image that is pre-rendered for the Kindle’s resolution.
On the kindle it ends up as the screensaver, so when you power it on, it disappears and you can read your books. The kindle is jailbroken and this works via an addon that allows for periodic refresh / download / flight mode toggle of the image.
