Like, clearly, we learned nothing from #MeToo.
Although, one thing I noticed back in 2018, was the marked silence from the social sector.
I kept waiting for the wave of sexual harassment and assault exposures to hit nonprofits and social justice movements.
But the only major revelation was Morris Dees touching butts and booties at the SPLC*. Maybe a rumbling or two about that guy at BLM.
And I wasn't the only one. All the other women I knew who'd been in these nonprofit streets waited. We'd heard the stories. And nothing.
The social sector clamped tight like Benson's butt.
There's no community if it refuses to hold Great Men accountable.

*I don't know if Morris Dees touched literal butts and booties; but he remarked on them an awful lot, especially Black and brown ones -- and that's how you get fired for creating a pervasively hostile work environment.
