Fucking despicable how a western journalist can standout outside a hospital in Israel where there has been no casualty, one where a TV can set up and broadcast with impunity, one where that country's PM can say - without the hint of irony: "They're targeting a hospital. This hospital has patients who are immobile. They can't even move, and there's a children's ward, a baby's ward, infants, they target it"
But less than 20 miles away ...
Where no one can see, hear, or know
This is Waylon. He’d been in a shelter for 95 days when a woman came in with her son Cai “just to look around.” They fell in love with Waylon. Cai asked so many great questions not only about Waylon’s personality, but how to keep him safe and healthy with heartworm prevention and microchips. Shelter staff said they were truly blown away by this young man. When he returned to officially adopt Waylon, he arrived in a very dapper suit. When asked why, he simply replied that it was a “special occasion.” Waylon and his new buddy are inseparable. 14/10 for everybody

Early in an election cycle is the time to do things that might cost votes in the short term @MaxG
No matter what Hamas (or Palestinians in general) do, Zionists will keep killing them.
It's high time Australia:
- recognised the state of Palestine;
- ceased all support for Israel;
- recalled our ambassador and expelled theirs;
- cancelled all Israeli visas;
- froze Israeli assets in Australia;
- stopped materiel, personnel and information flowing from Australia to Israel;
- declared Israel a terrorist state (so Australian citizens who have gone to fight for Israel are subject to prosecution).
By the next election, it will be generally acknowledged that doing so puts Australia on the right side of history.

Yes, It Is Just Like The Nazis
Hey so remember Anne Frank? The Jewish young girl who hid in an attic and was killed by the Nazis? The emblematic person we think of when we think of victims of the Holocaust?
She did not die in a gas chamber or in a death camp. She died in a temporary' detention center for the mass deportations which preceded the death camps.
She was in that camp because a patriotic neighbor ratted her out to the German deportation force. She died, not of a bullet to the back of the head or choking on gas, but of typhus. She contracted typhus because the Nazis couldn't realistically deport people at the rate they wanted to, because before the death camps their infrastructure couldn't handle the sudden influx of ethnic minorities they had decided to imprison, and because they didn't care about the consequences of that so their deportation detention centers were unhygienic and prisoners were underfed and overcrowded.
And she was picked up by the deportation force not because she was an illegal citizen but because, just like the US is doing with asylum seekers, she was part of a formerly recognized class of citizens who were legally redefined to lack citizenship by a new administration.
Anne Frank is exactly like the children who have already died in the United State's detention camps. Exactly. Down to the very last detail. There. Is. Not. A.
Single. Difference.
So unless you want to fucking tell me that Anne goddamn Frank was not a victim of the Holocaust, y'all can shut the fuck up with that "stop making concentration camp comparisons, you're diminishing the suffering of the Holocaust" bullshit.
Its also worth noting that her family TRIED to flee to the US and was denied. She was in that camp partly because the US refused to let her refugee family immigrate.
Just so these dipshits know, I’m already feeling the cuts to Medicare/Medicaid staffing and services.
I live in the US and rely on Medicare because I’m fully disabled, to the point of being homebound.
Apparently the division that deals with remote visiting technology has been cut, so they can’t legally fill my prescriptions anymore unless I physically travel nearly an hour to their office every 3 months to remain eligible, and my doctor can’t legally renew medications that I’ve been on for 20 years. Within a couple of months I’ll have to stop taking all of my long term maintenance meds because I cannot travel to their office.
This will remove all my quality of life and will kill me slowly. I don’t want to die slowly of neglect, so I’ve got a decision to make, and I’m putting it off because I really don’t want to die yet.
I don’t know what to say except I have a name. I’m Lilly Piper. I’m a very good user experience designer, a pretty good writer, and decent friend.
We’re not faceless or nameless. I just want someone to remember that there are names behind these policies.
I’m good at sewing; I make period correct corsets from the 1800s and before (proof and more proof).
I’m actually great at sewing. I do embroidery and am a great listener. I’m also a good writer and editor. I didn’t need to die like this, but I won’t be homeless again, and I won’t beg in the streets for medicine. I just won’t.
