Not that we should believe the Tangerine Tyrant launched the attack on Iran merely because talks on Iran's nuclear capability had broken down, but if you were so inclined, then after reading the Guardian's detailed account of these talks (undermined by the 'idiosyncratic' negotiating stance of the US' team)... you will be much clearer that something else was going on - this is war of choice & that choice had little to do with nuclear weapons!

How ignorance, misunderstanding and obfuscation ended Iran nuclear talks

Negotiators had reached agreement on key issues despite Trump team’s idiosyncratic approach. Two days later, war began

The Guardian
@ChrisMayLA6 'One Gulf diplomat said: “Greater time and expertise would not have guaranteed an agreement, but it would have helped. What I will say is that in all the explanations of what went on, it is the Iranians that have normally been telling the truth.” '
@ChrisMayLA6 This is so interesting and well written. We are in the hands of such idiots - they manage to make even the Iranian regime seem more civilized.
@ChrisMayLA6 This wasn't a team sent to make a deal.
And then there's the external pressure. According to the WP, Saudi Crown Prince MBS conducted multiple calls with Trump urging an attack, and Trump's decision came after sustained lobbying by both the Saudi and Israeli governments.

@ChrisMayLA6 Just before the bombings of #Iran began the #Iranian negotiators and #Omani FM were upbeat on progress being made. However, #DJT wanted results and a deal. While all #Trump had was a framework for a deal.

The components of #CBG/#CSG can only be at station for 3 months before withdrawing for R&R. A double dip deployment can be done but it strains the #CSG. The #AchillesHeel of #CSG.

@ChrisMayLA6 This was always uphill with Witkoff & Kushner.

Trump always gives Israel and bin Salman what they want.

We should also ask why *we* always give Israel and bin Salman what they want.

@ChrisMayLA6

The critical question is why that choice was made, and how. Pundits continue to try to ascribe complex and subtle strategy to the regime, as though they were playing some form of 4D chess that only they (the regime and the pundits) fully understand. Frankly, I think they are playing 1D tic-tac-toe on the back of a napkin.

@ChrisMayLA6 It’s trying to hide the files of a convicted paedophile. Simple really.
