Given the airport situation and all the other *gestures broadly*, I looked into taking Amtrak from Austin/San Antonio to San Francisco.

There is a train! It leaves at 2:45 in the morning, takes 40 hours, has three transfers, is mostly busses, and is canceled.

Other countries have managed to figure this out. It makes me sad.
