a lot of people really seem to think that patriotism and nationalism are natural because of in-group bias. but the fact that many people choose their nation state as their ingroup, instead of their class, is entirely a product of ideology. having you view your country as your in-group instead of the global working class is very convenient for the capitalist class, which wants to pit us against workers in other countries for its own benefit
