XLibre#GNOME 50 is scheduled for Mar 18, completely removing #X11 support. The once widespread DE is now systemd-only and Wayland-only. If you doubt that "GNOME knows best" and like to stay on X11, we have a section "Desktop Environments" on our "Are We XLibre Yet?" page.
