I should probably have done this years ago, but here's my latest work on PineTime's font rendering.

Anti-aliasing, kerning, subpixel hinting. Dropped the monospace font. Looks so crisp on the watch's display!

Before and after:

@fribbledom I had no idea you worked on the PineTime software. Neat!
@fribbledom I personally am fond of the Before style, but I can see the After style being better by a more objective standard.
Nice job! :D

@fribbledom Well dang that looks a heck of a lot better!

I really wanted to like my PineTime, but between hardware issues when recharging it causing it to bootloop that flashing or wiping wouldn't fix, and the single red LED HR monitor being poor at doing it accurately, and a few other things I couldn't stick with it.

It's nice to see it still alive of a community though!

@fribbledom nice, will there be a PR?

@copyrights

I've started with a couple of PRs already, we'll see how the community reacts to it.

If you want to try it out right now: https://github.com/muesli/InfiniTime/tree/fontroboto

Alternatively, I can provide a precompiled firmware image. Just let me know.

 I didn't know it was possible with the hardware. This is awesome!
