I played Minecraft with my children until they grew out of it. Then I played Minecraft on my own in secret. Some things I can't make because I'm too terrified to go to the Nether without them.

@fesshole its okay, at some point if everything goes right, they will want to hold your hand again. at least metaphorically in the mines if you ask nicely.

@fesshole Modded minecraft (for the Java version) can bring many quality-of-life improvements that can make the nether less fraught, eg. gravestones to store your stuff for when you inevitably burn to death in lava, and maps so that you don't get lost quite as easily.
