Common sense capitalism says that I/we should have hoarded this information and extracted rent. F*&% that! Why dream small and grub around in the dirt for pennies?! Let the base data be free and we can spin off bigger and better things.
@jez Nice! I'm also hopeful that OSM being able to produce a reasonable stab at an address database in many built up areas will eventually persuade Royal Mail to free the Postcode Address File, which will also help power more services too.
