i always thought it weird when i met cis guys who are adamant they absolutely must have kids but are not open to the idea of adoption

because in my view they're just making plans for someone else's body
this has always been my spiciest opinion and guys always debated me fiercely on that
"it has to be a decision made by both people in the couple" sure dude but in the end the decision that matters is that of the person who will carry the child. if they're not up for it then it's not your place to decide

@peachymist my take on that has always been that the man, with all the best intentions of course, has the ability to walk out and leave... whereas for the woman this is never an option. for men having a child is a choice that they can reverse later (it's awful, and many do), but for a woman this choice is irreversible.

that difference means the decision belongs to the woman, not the man.

@dee yeah, pretty much this. not to mention the whole pregnancy thing, it's not "beautiful" and not a walk in the park, it can alter one's body and health in so many levels that this decision has to be very well thought through
