My fellow saw the movie first, then I let him listen to my audio book, and a one point, he came into my office with a stricken look on his face. "How did they leave this out of the movie?" He did that a few more times. :)
Of course, a movie only has so much space, and the screen writer(s) did an amazing job.

@bigzaphod me too. my favourite bit - rich purnell runs a huge supercomputer calculation, and when it's done, the supercomputer displays, in big letters, "CALCULATION CORRECT". which I guess is what future computers do.
