#NASA used to have very little (I actually recall none) #CorporateBS on their platforms. They are still doing excellent work, but one has to try harder to find it in the noise.

Here is an article about the effects of radiation on Artemis astronauts. As a bonus, we get this animation of sunspots observed from #Mars, by #Perseverance 😍

Note: This animation does have an attribution.

«The crew also must account for exposure to Earth’s radiation belts and galactic cosmic rays. […] Together, the radiation exposure from these sources is expected to be comparable to a 1-month stay on the International Space Station, or about 5% of an astronaut’s career limit. Any exposure from solar radiation events would add to this baseline.»

Radiation exposure duration is missing from the comparison.

@JoseAC
yeah. On the other hand, criticizing NASA's achievements is still a good way to advertise those achievements, and on top of that, it makes one feel that he knows better … 🙄 . #selfSarcasm

For example, we used to pick on the number of decimal digits the #Ingenuity team gave about the expected length of its flights or the flight duration (3 and 2 decimal digits!).

Good ol' times. Still trying to stay in shape 😀
