You wouldn’t have any sort of laptop, pc, gpu if not capitalism. This is luxurious non essential stuff not needed in socialism. Nor any gaming gpu that do not contribute anything to collective work output. Pc hobby and ability to frivolously have insane electricity and resources guzzling machines just for the heck of it, is only possible in capitalism. central planning simply refused to allocate resources to produce ultra consumerism goods.

Edit: To clairify what I mean. Social Democracy is still a Capitalist system, but its more regulated (under a democratic government) and has a social safety net… so the “innovation” stuff that is supposedly fueled by capitalism can still happen, but the worst aspects of capitalism is also mitigated.

Critiques of capitalism can be advocating reform instead of revolution, so don’t be so quick to dismiss all criticisms.

Not that I particularly lean one way or the other but how do you know we wouldn’t have all of this without capitalism? Have you experienced each and every possible variation of reality to confirm that it’s only possible with capitalism?

Socialism does not mean central planning. A socialist system can be centrally planned, but there’s no requirement for it to be. It doesn’t mean a maximum of efficiency or a focus on essentials either for that matter, it’s just a matter of who owns the factories and such that make things. For that matter, if a system is not literally perfect, then it has room for improvement or replacement with something even better, and thus there is reason for complaint.
