@fxk8y Kicad even has a footprint for it, "Connector_Dsub:DSUB-15_Pins_EdgeMount_P2.77mm". The solder-cup style connector fits around a regular-thickness PCB quite well. The Floppy Emu disk drive emulator uses the same trick (on older versions at least), and Tektronix did it with GPIB connectors in the '80s.
