guess the metal (and solvent for bonus arylpoints) 👇
@aryl Definitely looks like a copper salt with that intense blue although i couldn't tell you the exact one... Nitrate or sulfate are both plausible?
@aryl but it could be something more exotic like cobalt chloride too
@azonenberg Correct!
@azonenberg though CoCl2 being referred to as exotic is really funny to me
@aryl well I mean compared to something like copper nitrate that i make (and throw out as waste) almost every time i use my wet bench

@aryl it's certainly not as obscure as, idk, the neptunium and technetium chemistry I was watching a video on the other day.

But outside of humidity indicators cobalt isn't a metal i work with super often.

Gonna make up some anhydrous salt at some point? Make your own color indicating desiccant? Or what's the plan for it

@azonenberg catalytic complexes for borane-alkene addition reactions.... this is already anhydrous in the pic after i hit it with a heat gun under vacuum
@aryl sorry i meant anhydrous crystals not in solution. Well have fun lol
@azonenberg oh i had it as anhydrous crystals before this... dissolved them in Solvent after for the complex synthesis
