Sorry Baby…

@nielso Amongst other problems, we once had a show all but ruined because the #Windows11 Nagscreen hat opened in the Background and the show's intro wouldn't play.

And now it even requires a workaround to … use a screen?

I know, using #FreeSoftware has it's own drawbacks but none of them are these kinds of completely unnessessary pitfalls.

#Windows is very obviously not meant for professional usage. Why do so many people insist it is?

@tm

Well, you can apparently download some tool by Intel that allows you to have fixed graphics settings like in the old days of Windows 10.

However, I often have to connect laptops of the client, and usually their users don't have admin access to their own machine, so everything must work directly and driverless, so I only use class-compliant USB gear, and HDMI – which reminds me of… using Linux. Except for… it works on Linux.

Recently we had to set up a timer on a mobile phone and move the mouse every X minutes, because… the client did not have permission to deactivate the screen lock which would switch on after 15 minutes.

But in the business world, Microsoft is as given as the rotation of the earth.

My frustration with this is that business clients do not even consider that all of these problems are actually Windows problems. For them, it's #EventTech problems that they want solved by… me. And if I fail, they blame… me. Not Windows.
