#Windows11 vergisst ja mit Intel-Mobile-Grafik absichtlich seine Bildschirm-Einstellungen auf dem #HDMI-Ausgang, was in der #Veranstaltungstechnik zu Schreikrampfneigung führt, weil mitunter gazillionisch euronisch teure LED-Walls nicht mehr mit Windows funktionieren.

Der #DrHDMI von #HdFury soll das beheben, ein #EdidManager. Erstmal installiere ich auf #Windows10 einen Treiber für irgendwas mit USB und dann das #EdidUtility (gibt's für XP, aber nicht für 11…). Tjaa, was soll ich sagen, also diese Form der Bildschirmeinstellungen ist glasklar für den Ottonormal-Techniker, oder?

Für 69€ ist dieses Produkt erstaunlich vollschrottig, aber es gibt kaum was anderes, das überhaupt 50Hz kann.

Die eingespeicherten #EDID Presets sind alle 60Hz, aber immerhin 480p und 720p, ich brauch aber 1080p50, 1080p30, 1080p25 und… achso halt, es gibt nur zwei frei belegbare Speicherplätze. Sorry Baby…

Sollte 1080p30 und 1080p50 sprechen oder lernen können.

I think that the telling diagnostic here is that in an otherwise identical setup, for a single-monitor system and the old HP monitor type, you replaced one monitor that worked with a supposedly identical one, and that second one did not.

That's highly suggestive of those two monitors no longer being identical, where once they were.

Do they send the same EDID/DisplayID information to the system?

Have you configured any EDID overrides for the kernel, with custom EDID files?

When you bring up the monitor's own OSD, what does it say about itself?

Cas d'un écran branché en HDMI

cat /sys/class/drm/card0-HDMI-A-1/edid | parse-edid | grep -C1 ModelName

Ça fonctionne aussi avec les écrans internes de laptop
/sys/class/drm/card0-eDP-1/edid

Mais l'#EDID a tendance à être moins bavard (Identifier/ModelName vide)

1. Par exemple si c'est pas écrit, effacé par le temps, peu lisible (contraste texte/boitier), écrit en tout fin sur l'étiquette à l'arrière de l'écran...

Lulz… Un écran d'appoint/portable 15.6" 1092×1080 pas cher dont le fabricant prétend une couverture 100% du sRGB en jouant sur l'ambiguïté 72% NTSC¹ soit 8 bit par couleur, stocke les infos #EDID pour déclarer une profondeur de couleur 12 bit par couleur (36/3) 🤣.

De même que pour les #eMarker #USBC les fabricants mentent comme des arracheurs de dents…

I have an EDID file and want to remove all monitor modes except one.

I bought myself a little 5.5" control #display for my future #youtube and #peertube videos. A Feelworld F5 Pro with a native 1080p resolution.
Unfortunately, my #linux workstation running #archlinux only detects the display properly every fifth time. All the other times it shows up as a 640x480 unknown display.
I am connecting it to my computer via an AMD WX7100 GPU and a rather high quality DP to HDMI cable.
Any thoughts or do I need to go the route of injecting a fake #edid?
