I'm pleased to share with you the greatest advancement in bottom-sheet technology since the invention of elastic.
This post has officially breached containment, so I'm muting replies at this point. Glad to bring some revolutionary joy into y'all's lives. 😁

@EnfysBook ZOMGWTFBBQEIEIO... that's AMAZING.

On the gripping hand, in the EU, the closest thing to a king-size bed is 200x200cm. _It literally does not matter_ which way the fitted sheet goes on.

Still. For folks whose beds for whichever reason *aren't* square... you're absolutely right. Best thing since elastic.

@stonebear2 Yeah, I've got queen size sheets, so this is an absolute game-changer.
@EnfysBook @stonebear2 how many corners is this in because it may still be a game of find the damn label
@cat @stonebear2 All four!
@EnfysBook @cat Assignment, understood!
@stonebear2 @cat @EnfysBook
But all 4 tags are identical, so you still have a 50/50 shot. LOL

@EnfysBook I've been trying for 4 months to get a 230x240 cm blanket that's actually sized to my mattress, instead of the 240x270 that drapes to the floor and confuses poor Xiulan, the robovac.

(1) Amazon.es search for '230x240 cm blanket' and anything similar returns about 100x as many completely incorrectly sized products as what I specifically asked for. Their search took another precipitous dive into the Abyss after "AI".

(cont.)

@EnfysBook (2) The one company with a suitable size product cannot manage to ship it without literal weeks of delay, or answer the specific questions I send them about the shipment, or find my address once they finally do. But somebody in Sevilla, 400 km away in a different country, apparently has a nice new blanket now. 6 weeks in after the second order failed because the shipping company could not find my address (down to the building by zip code) or contact me to ask about it, I gave up.
@oddhack @EnfysBook Would bedsheet suspenders help?
@EnfysBook 😍😍😍 I'm in the market for some new sheets, who makes these beauties?
@blake Bambaw.
@EnfysBook @blake pls report
Are they not mega sweaty..? I have bamboo socks and they're... Slippy.
Although I see you you've muted so never mind πŸ˜…

@EnfysBook OMG, this is truly revolutionary!

Is the world even ready for this?

@[email protected] Now if there were a way of neatly folding them...

@nowster Heh, I just stuff my sheets into a pillowcase. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone cares if sheets are wrinkled.

Ratfactor's Illustrated Guide to Folding Fitted Sheets - ratfactor

@kasimir @nowster @EnfysBook fym ratfactor i used to use this guys dwm guide
@EnfysBook @jon Okay that’s even cooler than the β€œtop/bottom” tags in the middle of the short sides.
@EnfysBook PSA, you can just add these labels your own sheets with permanent fabric markers (you might have the best luck finding "laundry markers")! If they don't have the elastic part, you can hand-stitch the world's sloppiest beginner stitches to add some flat elastic and it will still look perfect once it's on the bed.

@EnfysBook

Heh, congrats on viral!

I can even see an improvement: pictogram so it is translingual. (I would also widen the elastic a bit for longevity.)

And for everyone not producing this as a business: you can do this at home for yourself with some elastic and a sharpie.

@EnfysBook removing mattress tags are whatever, make this required to be on every fitted sheet!

@EnfysBook Have y'all seen the best incarnation of this?

TOP OR BOTTOM, QUEEN

@corycarson @EnfysBook reminds me of the washing instructions on my reversible jacket which says "wash inside out" πŸ˜‚
@EnfysBook I have a set of sheets with a similar tag sewn in and I was THRILLED when I saw it for the first time
@EnfysBook This is a great advancement indeed, but elastic is the devil’s work.
@EnfysBook after years of cursing and being frustrated with this, I learned that the label should align to the bottom of the bed, at my side. It was an enlightenment

@EnfysBook

I just make sure to buy sheets with a clear north-south pattern πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

@Edelruth I've done that, too! Things are so much easier now.
@EnfysBook The nice thing about king size is the two dimensions are so close it doesn't really matter.
@EnfysBook

Bigger PITA with duvets.
That said, this should be standard on everything; brilliant idea.

@EnfysBook

πŸ™Œ Glorious!

Sure beats my typical fitted sheet user experience, which is akin to this:

@EnfysBook funny how documentation is useful

@EnfysBook
It has been decades since humans last set foot on the moon.

There is no universal cure for cancer yet.

But humanity has conquered fitted sheets.

@EnfysBook this should be legally mandatory

@EnfysBook

What is this dark sorcery?

@EnfysBook now they just need to make one you can fold without performing non-Euclidean extradimensional transformations
How to Fold a Fitted Sheet (with Pictures)

While the elastic corners on a fitted sheet are helpful for keeping them on a mattress, they make folding the sheets a real pain. If you've ever gotten frustrated and stuffed your fitted sheets in your linen closet in a big wad, you're...

wikiHow
@adub I know how to do it and I've been guided through it and I still can't
@aburka my bad. it's definitely not easy, but fwiw i got better at it over months of trying.
@EnfysBook This is a revolution.
@EnfysBook the tag is either inside left or right. If they’d just be consistent between manufacturers, that would be sufficient
