I have been trying to quickly capture my father’s living room. Happy with how parts turned out, though it’s hard to get a cohesive composition with so many part in it. Also, the glare is quite brutal so it photographed quite poorly. Anyways, I don’t paint lots of interiors, wanted to try it.

love the red of the cussion, it elevates the picture with its complementaryness to the greens
@illiannaheger thank you :) I was putting the red in there, surprised by the vibrancy. I also thought it added to the colors around it.

@Ulisu I do find your color usage does make it coherent even if the composition is a bit chaotic.

oh, that photo glare. I hate that, but no idea how to not have it. it seems it's either we get glare, or not enough light == grainy image. 🥴

@bazkie thank you 🙏 with fotos, it it really bad with oil paintings. Normally I have a weird setup at home involving a cowboy hat and top down lighting + heavy perspective transformation to make it work. But here theres all these white walls and big windows. Makes it that there is glare from every angle. Woes of being an oil painter I guess.

@Ulisu oh right with oil I'm sure it's even worse! (I use acrylics here)

lolled @ cowboy hat :D I can relate to experimenting with all kinds of weird setups to get acceptable lighting. I haven't found my ideal setup yet..

@Ulisu i really like it! ☺️
@venetiana oh thank you so much 😊
Very nice. Love it!
I saw this yesterday and afterwards I found myself thinking about it a lot. I think what's so captivating about it to me, is how the painting stays focused on the whole, not getting lost in details. I feel I really get a *sense* of that place, and how it's been shaped by time and life. Love it 💜️
@gom you honor me :) thank you very much, i think the biggest compliment for me to hear is that my work is staying in your mind for a while!
