Overheard my kids, who are not being raised in a faith tradition, unknowingly recite some old school anti-Catholic talking points when they were discussing the religious practices of people they know. “I don’t think Laolao (my mom) is a Christian because they have just Jesus, and she has all those pictures and statues of those other gods and stuff. Mama has one of those statues in the living room and it is not Jesus. It is a lady.”
