Glad that I ended my #GNOME test run after a couple of months and switched to KDE.

@publicvoit I don’t know why you would ever want paste actions bound to the mouse like that. What do you use it for?
@taylorhadden it's been the default in the X window system for a long time and some people have come to expect & rely on it
@ryanprior IMHO, this feels like a similar thing to how Blender had totally alien selection behavior compared to everything else before switching. Most computer users have never used X. Most computer users don't expect the middle mouse button to do anything related to the clipboard. If GNOME wants to be intuitive to use for the majority of computer users, it probably wants to avoid this particular interaction.

@taylorhadden @ryanprior I could only agree if this was the only option to paste from the clipboard.

So the pros are using the middle mouse paste quite frequently. The others do get their buttons, menu entries or use the keyboard shortcut.

So, yeah, GNOME has chosen its side. 😜

@publicvoit @taylorhadden @ryanprior I'm sure pros users can switch back the behavior, eg with Refine...
