I want to thank all the people that have given feedback and proffered ideas. So much of this release has come directly from or been inspired by this feedback. I am so pleased to be able to build up something we all care about.

Once again, automated tests did their job and stopped some seriously gross bugs (oversights) from going out.

IDK who needs to read this, but write tests! Time spent writing them is payed off in preventing obnoxious debugging and release embarrassment later!

Some dude on reddit:
> AI really showed me that many programmers were never interested in building things. They were more interested in the action of writing and the intricacies of syntax and hardware.

This is like saying "The camera showed me that many painters were never interested in capturing reality. They were more interested in the action of brushing and the intricacies of pigments and medium."

Yeah dude. Some people were interested in the art of it all.

The woodworking metaphor keeps coming back to me here. It used to be that wood was one of the only ways to build things. Now, there are other solutions that can scale better or do things that would be impossible with wood. There are fewer woodworkers now.

However, people still engage in the craft. People still enjoy it. It still produces beautiful & useful things.

I wish reddit (and I suppose everywhere else) had a user tagging feature so that I could tag users that have completely lost the plot on AI.

It Can Now Be Plainly Said: Trump Is Planning a November Coup d’État

During the campaign, it was kind of hard to picture the specifics of how Trump might pull such a thing off. Alas, it’s getting less hypothetical by the week.

I don’t think any of you realize how dire the state of password management is. The lady next to me on this flight just logged onto the flight wifi by entering a password from her notes app. Then, on her work computer, she had a google sheet named “master password list” including one entry for “file server”

So here’s my proposal for developers of any app that could conceivably be used to write down passwords: if you detect a title like “passwords” or a bunch of “email: … \n password: …” lines, show a banner that says “this is a very bad idea”

Very important point!

Even if you keep those AI agents out of your data you are making everyone else's digital life and experience worse.
