Sindarina, Edge Case Detective@skinnylatte Yeah. I only learned this later, and before that it was just an example of how litigious the US is, but it was a deliberate choice on the part of McDonalds to serve the coffee that hot for some silly internal optimisation slash money saving reason, IIRC.
