For any regular shoppers of Cult Pens, they're changing their loyalty points system on April 1st in order to "make it even better, for our favourite customers." Yeah, I'm sure it does...🤦

You'll still get 1 point for every £1 spent, but they're getting rid of the 20% discount, leaving us with just the 10% and 15% options. 10% currently costs 50 points, 15% is 100 points, & 20% is 150 points. From April, it will instead be 10% for 100 points & 15% for 150 points.

Along with this, they've changed how long discounts you redeem last from 90 days to just 5 days.

I don't see how this makes things better for us as a customer when the points we earn are worth less and we have less options, and they dodged this question when I asked them about it. 🤷

*Some people are redeeming a discount and being told they only have 5 days to use them. This goes against their FAQ, so I don't know why that's happening now. Please be cautious when redeeming if you're not able to use it in the next few days.

@toga My guess is, they are suffering a lot ever since the tariffs hit.

@Parker51 Wouldn't be surprised. And that's fair, just be honest with us. It's the way they're trying to spin it as a positive for customers that really bothers me.

@toga I clicked redeem and got a code that will expire in five days.

@silhelm 😮 That shouldn't be the case. Per their FAQ:
"How long do I have to use my rewards?
For percentage discount rewards you have earned through points, they will last 90 days.
For percentage discount rewards you have earned through the refer-a-friend scheme, they will last 30 days.
For limited time rewards, like free delivery periods, they will last the length of the promotional period (e.g. 7 days from when the discount is created)"

@silhelm That's really shitty, and I hope this hasn't been done intentionally by Cult to discourage people from redeeming more points now. I'm sorry that's happened & have added an extra note to warn others.

@toga confirmed by cultpens, discount codes have to be used in five days and 20% codes before april 1st.

@toga my redeemed code will be replaced with one valid until the 1st, so I'll be able to use it, but that's as far as they're willing to go. Sigh. Cult pens have been so good but this is a mess.

@toga I'll have to do some budgeting but I wonder if I can use my last 20% code for my current grail pen (a carene). It'll be a quite good price for one, I'm unlikely to get that price again any time soon.
