I wonder if it would be possible to make a charitable organisation that receives and buys stock in companies and holds it on behalf of their workers, letting the workers vote with that stock.
That might be a small avenue to workplace democracy.
If it ever gets enough of a company, it could turn it into a proper co-operative.

As I understand it, that's a network of already existing co-ops?
I was thinking of something that brings workplace democracy to existing capitalist companies.

Yes except the heat pump business was originally a private company and the employees bought the company about 10 years ago with the help of other donors and members of the coop.
