Everywhere in Japan the toilets have the built in bidet, even on the flight.

Seriously I want to move here

@dee Question about Japan: is there a trend for women to do some sort of plastic surgery to their eyes, so that they bulge their lower lids and make them look bumpier? Have seen several photos of different young models from Japan that seem to have those bulged lower lids, wondering if it's a thing.

Here's an example of what I mean, this is just one of many, and this is not even that pronounced:

@raulinbonn I have seen no one like this. Thankfully

@dee Hehe ok. Thought about asking AI, this is a good use case, to learn about other cultures. It is indeed a thing it seems:

Yes, there is a specific beauty trend, primarily originating from South Korea, known as Aegyo-sal (translated as "charming fat" or "cute skin"). Unlike traditional under-eye bags that can make someone look tired, Aegyo-sal refers to the small bulge of fat directly beneath the lower lash line that naturally appears when a person smiles.

Why People Want It
In many East Asian cultures, this feature is associated with a youthful, innocent, and cheerful appearance. It is believed to make the eyes look larger, brighter, and as if they are "smiling," which is highly prized in modern beauty standards influenced by K-pop and social media.

@dee Here more examples, these five are all japanese models. Four or at least three of them (on the right) seem to have had this under-eye bulge treatment made:

@dee Sharing another (last one I promise.) It's just that I can't unsee it now:
