#ClimateDiary “Earth’s Greatest Enemy”, Abby Martin’s new documentary about the environmental impact of the US military, couldn’t be more timely. The US military is so unbelievably destructive, in so many ways at once.

The London Premiere is this Tuesday, 17th March. I am going: would be great to see any fellow UK/London ClimateDiary writers there!

Earth's Greatest Enemy

A documentary exposé of the world's biggest (and most unaccountable) polluter: the US military. Learn the environmental cost of history's biggest empire with Abby Martin.

@pvonhellermannn And it’s no wonder why it is so.. It depends on the fossil fuel industry, directly.

Only because of the #petrodollar, can the USA borrow beyond it’s means and export the inflation abroad.

The US military feeds on the deficit, and fights those who try to sell oil in other currencies.

The senseless war in Iran is another one of those.

@gimulnautti To be a little more accurate: military leadership, having worked and risked their lives for most of their careers, usually cave in to conflict-of-interest politicians and fossil fuels lobbyists, who can directly affect their retirement.

This is why heavily regulating conflict of interest in positions of power, is paramount in sustaining a proportionately scaled government. Unfortunately, the abuse of power continues, as does the horrific genocide in continuing to burn fossil fuels.
