An important thread. But something is missing. The refusal of Republicans to hold Trump accountable AND ALSO to exercise the least little responsibility on confirmations would have mitigated this risk. Joni Ernst, Thom Tillis, Murkowski and Collins all KNEW Whiskey Pete would push war crimes.

It tells you something. A seat in the #House or #Senate is so valuable that an incumbesnt would sell his soul to keep it. Let's double the salary and prohibit stock trading. Make serving something you would do for one or two terms as service. It should not be so attractive as to be a lifetime career.
