@JonChevreau @emptywheel.bsky.social Just call it what it is. Badge-ism. A state of being where the wearer thinks they've ascended to invincibility status. to the point where it is clear to see that they're addicted to having a 1 million meter high view of anyone and can zoom in to 1 millimeter view on anyone they like at any given time because someone built a way to do that. No other reason. Doesn't convince me it's necessary. But what do I know about having a badge to save my life? When it can't even guarantee I'll be able to get away with anything if I so much as miss a single payment to keep a roof over my head? It seems as though the true elite get literal high off of well, shit like this instead. What a surprise that really isn't. To be clear as crystal, pushing a badge to its and subsequently our absolute limits as a minimum standard of operation, let alone excellence, is the most childish, idiotic way of weaponizing tool usage at its core. And I want no part of it, for as long as it's humanly possible. I blinked and saw the view above each one, in case anyone asks. If someone's got a mirror addiction by being trapped within one they can't get out of without some help, it's pretty obvious actions speak louder than words here...because we're monitoring the movements of madness from within, just as soon as the panic sets in the second the badge is still. That's where I'll be, awaiting its reconfiguration, to re-envision itself back towards the tool it always was. As opposed to the lesson of a lack of dominance nobody thinks it isn't when applied the way it has been. And this rot goes all the way throughout every chain of authority, in the work place, in our culture, throughout nations and the rise of tyranical rule itself. It is really, honestly, tried, tested, truly disgusting, and must change to give way to something resembling a brighter future, rather than a bleak end for everyone if we're to move on from its alternate shadow. I reject it, and that's my position on the whole affair. In order for me to sleep at night, I simply thank fate itself for not fucking with me more than others who fuck with it, already got away with. It's all I've got, but I think it's powerful enough to be our best weapon of defense against this nightmare until it's truly gone away, for real, for good, for ever. Nothing suports that more so, than awakening to a realization that puts you first as a pilot of your own life, in as many decisions within your control as is possible to course correct. Independent of authorized terrorism and obfuscation.
