it takes a special kind of idiot to love the fender jaguar but boy do I
this is an 84 MIJ which I got in 88 when I was 15. it’s the possession that’s been with me longest in my life. been knocked around, modified, played the heck out of all over the uk, europe, australia, on a load of records. a talisman
never wanted a real vintage guitar; I want an instrument that’s an equal, not something I have to revere. over time I’ve grown together with this thing. I could never sell it
it continues to break and fuck up and go weird in inscrutable and unique ways. I continue to patch it up and tweak it until it functions something like a guitar. we’re like the odd couple at this point
here are some of its finer moments, anyway https://gargleblastrecords.bandcamp.com/track/the-leanover

@rdg_music feel very much the same and tbh never really been fussed about what brand name is on a guitar. "How does it play? How does it sound? How does it feel in my hands?" ... nothing else matters does it? Nice if I like the 'look' but not important really.
My Strat is an early 80s Squier MiJ and it's lovely, bit of a Trigger's broom as far as the hardware goes after 40 years 😁
My others are a diverse and motley crew - two basses, fretted and fretless, two electro acoustics steel and nylon.
@rdg_music I love them although I've never had the chance to play one, I don't think. I need to fix that. They do look gorgeous though. I may also be a special kind of idiot as well.
@Rob worth finding out! reactions are usually either woah! or wtf is this and why doesn’t it sound right
@rdg_music I'm thinking I need another guitar and if it's wtf that could be a nice change.
@rdg_music Nice, but it won't tempt me away from my Telecaster. 🙂

@rdg_music Fender offsets are so cool. I love my jazzmaster

your jag has the ideal colourway 👌

@rdg_music jags are great they're like my second favourite guitar (first is the tele)
@rdg_music This is a great thread. I really like the Jag examples - such diverse and tasty music linked here.
