Remember the dayf when you would buy a thing and then that would be it? You wouldn't be pestered for days afterward to leave a review! And yes, I understand that in today's marketplace reviews are very important, but I also have a life and the thought of having to find the language to review everything from my toothpaste to my most recent book purchase leaves me exhausted! I would like to stop being nagged about leaving reviews. Because guess what… Spoiler! Being nagged about leaving reviews does not actually make me want to leave reviews. It makes me never want to do business with whatever company ever again. From my perspective, we had an exchange. I give you my money, you give me the thing. If I like the thing chances are, I'm going to come back and give you more of my money so you can give me more of the thing! What makes me not want to come back ever again is pestering about reviews.
@pawpower I almost never write reviews, can{t think of when I have done so.
@pawpower i'm like that with how did we do surveys. Way to make you feel important when you're really not. I won't do a survey if they aren't going to enter me into a draw or something. Especially these companies who could give a substantial sized gift card for doing said survey and who don't. Fuck that. My time is worth something to these companies. I don't do how did we do surveys very often, but I would be way more motivated if they offer me a chance to win something for my time at least.
@pawpower Even my dentist nags people to leave reviews now. It’s really too much.
@pawpower this is just like the rair uber, or lyft driver that asks you to make sure you give them a tip when you rate them. one driver did that to me one day, but didn't even ask me. they pretty much told me to give thenm a tip, and I right out of the gate told them ok, I have a tip for you, don't ask for tips, as that makes me rate you lower because you never tell someone to give you a tip. a tip means you went above and beyond, and you sir barely did the minimum. I gave that person a 3, because if you don't want to get them again, you have to give a three, and in the notes, I was honest and told why I gave a three. that I didn't ever want them again, because they told me to give them a tip.
@JamminJerry I had new Uber drivers asked me to be sure and rate them, they did not ask for a tip and they asked me to rate them because they were new and were trying to build up their ratings. And in those cases, I'm happy to help. I don't mind if I can give a rating like between one and five but writing review means actually stringing words together. I am not being paid to advertise for companies. If they do a good job, I will tell my friends and family about them in my own words and in my own way.
@JamminJerry @pawpower on our paratransit app, we have the option to rate our ride, including leaving a note. I give all the drivers five stars because I know them all and I like them. I have a good rapport with all of them. None of them have ever been a jerk to me in any way shape or form. Except that one we encountered when you were here Rox. And she retired in January.
@Cam @JamminJerry And she wasn't even a jerk really she was just an idiot and was not listening to me. Like I could call my doctor and produce a letter on demand when I'm in an completely different country lol
@JamminJerry @pawpower that was the one and only time she ever gave me a hard time. She actually told me I was one of the ones she would miss when she retired. But she could be quite a bitch to others. Passengers as well as drivers alike from all I've heard. But besides that she was always nice as pi to me.
@Cam @JamminJerry It did make me laugh though that I was able to get the gentle leader out and suddenly there was my dog had a muzzle, and she even commented that it was cute that I found a pink muzzle to match her pink service dog harness, and I just laughed! Phoenix has never bitten anyone, but if she chose to ain't no gentle leader gonna stop her! But she's basically a big teddy bear anyway unless of course you ignore her when she's trying to show you her toys and then she's going to yell at you and give you a lecture
@pawpower @JamminJerry well yes. I found out about the toys and lecturing thing firsthand. Apparently being too busy talking to you was no excuse for her.
@Cam @JamminJerry Well, Nancy will be here in three weeks and she will spend a lot of time telling her all about everything.
@pawpower @Cam see I would be the ass and deliberatly ignore her, so she would talk to me. smile. lol.
@pawpower @Cam I mean if that is all I have to do to get her to talk to me. you know. smimle.
@Cam @JamminJerry @pawpower I'm so excited. I was yesterday years old when I found out that the paratransit service in this city has an app that you can schedule your trips on, and also track your bus. I'm excited to try it out.
@RaineyDay @Cam @JamminJerry @pawpower You're so excited, and you can't hide it. You know, you know, you know, something something.
@pawpower I absolutely agree, the review thing is out of hand
@pawpower Oof! It makes me want to not give a review at all.
@amy0223 @pawpower Roxy, did you know that people read your reviews? Thanks for giving us a review. Give us 6 more reviews and we'll tell you a joke. How did you enjoy your instant potatoes, your black socks, your sink aerators, your Camamile lotion, your restorealax gummies, your 1 gallon of quick setting cement? I think amazon is very insecure with itself. Lol!
@pawpower UI blocking review prompts in apps are infuriating.
@pawpower Agreed. I don't even bother giving them a review. The email or text goes right in the bin.
@pawpower I feel this. And, I'll give a review if I want to give a review.
@pawpower @vick21 What I can't stand is when a company wants me to review their staff member on Google maps or whatever service. I shouldn't be the one that publicly recognizes how awesome their staff is or how good they are at what they've been hired to do for you. Nor should their performance be based on what I have to say in these reviews. I've told the company that does our bug and pest treatments this very thing. It's truly annoying and exhausting like you say. And I find it incredibly unfair to those who are forward facing staff forced to deal with this process
