Today's eldritch coffee is The Great Race of Yith (from Lovecraft's "The Shadow out of Time"):
@cstross “It occurred to us at last that we should be asking exactly WHERE Stross was getting his coffee from. But by then it was too late. Coffee shops with names like The Coffee Out of Space and Starrywisdombucks were already established in every high street. And when the nightmares began, the screams were quickly covered by the eldritch hissing of the steamers and the roar of the coffee grinders milling their way through bones and beans alike.”
@angusm There is this one particularly mad Australian barista who works weekends at Bastard Barista on Queen Street (down in a basement along from the National Gallery) who does Lovecraftiana …
@cstross @angusm Don't let the coffee get cold, or leave any in the cup.

I'm seeing a nice lady handing out a coffee with a jug in her other hand, and wearing a dress like she's taking a break between flamenco dances ... but the two are probably not incompatible.

On second glance she may be a little tentacular but that's fine by me obvs. and anyway it may just be the effect of all that dancing.

@cstross "lifting the hot beaker of frothing swill to his clammy face, he gazed upon the swirling place where all the stars died"

@oatmealraisin @cstross I just finished listening to the Sisters of Mercy, opened my phone and first thing I saw was this.
