This is so true, and so disappointing.

Claude is an Electron App because we’ve lost native

Article argues that Claude is not an Electron app not because LLMs can’t do it, but because there are no advantages left for native

@bens I really see this so differently, especially with the rise of LLM-based dev tools. The economics of creating native apps has dramatically shifted such that it's not the investment it once was to maintain multiple native stacks. I also don't feel the same about Apple's UX design trend. I've really enjoyed what they've done with the OSes 26.
@MrRooni agree that economics have shifted (drastically). Can’t follow the 26 design aesthetic at all though.
@bens You're certainly not alone in that assessment. The thing that resonates for me is the coherence across platforms that exists now; that's been a win.
@MrRooni @bens I strongly disagree with your like of 26 design. On mobile it is terrible and half thought through, on macOS it is so much worse. #os26Opinion
@woolie _checks to see if that's a trending hashtag_ 😄
@MrRooni sorry for such poor wording. I’m glad you like it.
@woolie All good, man. 🙂 Lots of room for lots of opinions on this stuff.
