Photos like this one is why the Union Flag is a racist symbol.

I learnt very quickly growing up in the UK that the Union Flag was the symbol of the National Front - racist shit bags.

After living 1/2 my life in the US I’m very sceptical of those wrapping themselves in flags.

As far as I’m concerned, John Ternus has one job and it’s fixing Apple’s relationship with developers.

Whatever empathy might exist at the individual level is eradicated by bureaucracy.

Attached: 1 image Alright, I’m done. I no longer care about discoverability or revenue, I just want to release this thing. Mac apps have existed for 42 years without this “App Store” bullshit. Doppi will be a free download for Mac. Self-hosted. To close out this long and grueling thread, one last thought: f u c k A p p l e ‘ s A p p R e v i e w

iOS 15, 16, and (I think) 17 got dot releases yesterday.

iOS 18 for devices supporting 26? Not so much 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

With 18.7.8 I really hoped they finally understood not everyone would like to upgrade (downgrade?) to 26, and supporting 18 on 11+ is a good idea. I was evidently mistaken 🙄

I maintain building SwiftUI instead of working on a true AppKit/UIKit replacement was a generational mistake — 7 years later we're back where we started, unable to trust SwiftUI to build a platform around, still in need of a modern, more-powerful and dependable UI framework that spans all the way down, and up, Apple's product line. SwiftUI, outside of watchOS, gained us absolutely nothing of value, and has eroded a lot of the software quality we once took for granted

Using SwiftUI to Build a Mac-assed App in 2026 - Paulo's Blog

I’m Paulo. A software developer based in Lisbon, Portugal, founder of Outer Corner, currently building apps for Apple platforms.

Just brought home the college freshman (or now officially no longer a freshman). First year of college done. All the feels.
After 2+ years at Apple, this is my last week. It's time for my family and I to move back home to Toronto, and sadly the job is here. Planning on enjoying the summer but I will be looking for work - if you need a C++ dev with experience in graphics, let me know! Open to remote or Toronto local gigs.

The only thing Liquid Glass should inspire is to *not* design anything inspired by it.

Jettison 1.9.6 is out! It shows the number of mounted drives in your menu bar, adds NFS support and addresses issues in macOS Tahoe. Control external disks from your menu bar and eject them automatically before sleep! https://www.stclairsoft.com/Jettison/index.html
