(snark, in the vein of The Onion): I mean c'mon. They are just going to get married and beaten. Why does anyone have to pay dollars for this?
(oh god. I am horrible) ๐ซข
The Onion is at its best when times are worst.
@heidilifeldman I see stuff like this and I give a low whistle and I think about Certain Comedians who whine about how they can't do edgy comedy anymore and what a bunch of lazy cowards they are.
*This* is edgy comedy. Taking incredibly dark subject matter and turning it to razor-sharp social commentary. The transgression is a means to an end, not an end in itself.
@martinvermeer Right, it's comic exaggeration to expose truth. Hegseth didn't really say that, and the audience knows he didn't really say that, but it's commentary on his misogyny and his psychopathic disregard for human rights.
With a bluntness and clarity that the mainstream press actively avoids.
When irony becomes the only truth...

Thank you Heidi,
I didn't know this media !
It gives me hope for america :)
@heidilifeldman @xgranade Ahhhh. Dark humour. So we can laugh in the faces of oppression, horror, and death.
They hate it when we laugh at them.
