*This* is edgy comedy. Taking incredibly dark subject matter and turning it to razor-sharp social commentary. The transgression is a means to an end, not an end in itself.

@Thad @heidilifeldman Also, I would call this newscasting, in a country - or a world - where that art is largely dead. It may not be factual, but it informs, not misinforms or uninforms, the reader. Meta-factual, if you like.

@martinvermeer Right, it's comic exaggeration to expose truth. Hegseth didn't really say that, and the audience knows he didn't really say that, but it's commentary on his misogyny and his psychopathic disregard for human rights.

With a bluntness and clarity that the mainstream press actively avoids.
