Kai#CurrentlyReading (or re-reading) Mary Beard's "SPQR". The author has such talent to bring historic events to life, it's most delightful.

@therealahall It sure is a bit of a brick. But she tells the story of Roman Italy in mostly self-contained stories. So you could just pick up a chapter here and there and learn something (as well as being very well entertained).
