Got my A/UX installation and update discs ready for this weekend to get A/UX installed on the Macintosh Quadra 650. I already have the disk images from which to boot off as well as other disk images for updates to perform post-3.1-update. Gonna create those on the StarMax. 💾 🍎

Not sure if this is compatible with #MARCHintosh, but it will be on a 68K Mac and System 7.1 is used to get that one there, so maybe? ​

Well, after a failed attempt last night to get those A/UX disk images onto actual diskettes from the SiniStarMax under Mac OS 8.6, I finally checked out the README on the URL below where I got the .iso and .img imagesfor A/UX and used the 'dd' command to create them. If I have time, I'll test them out on the Quadra 650 tonight or tomorrow night. 🙏 🍎 ​ #MARCHintosh

@knapjack Ooh, the Q700 always piqued my interest, especially because you could never tell if it was meant to be standing like a tower or laying like a desktop. ​ @billgoats

That is surely compatible. Got my q800 online today with A/UX 3.11 A/UX uses system 7.0.1 ;-)

@claudiom A/UX is so badass. I remember all the proprietary OEMs having heart burn over it. A Mac with A/UX on it was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than a comparable SGI workstation and could run Mac and Unix software! And when I worked at SGI, an old fart told me that when Apple killed it, there was a "ding dog the witch is dead" party. I hope the Neo does the same disruptive thing.

@praetor I was actually looking at getting the MacBook Neo for my wife to replace her old Surface that won't run Windows 11. She was able to get the extended security updates for Windows 10 by signing up for it (she was already using her MS account there), but having an Apple device would best integrate with her iPhone and appleWatch.

Plus, it's Unix!
