Guess who just won yarn chicken
Steeking a fair isle cardigan was kind of the final boss of knitting for me and now i’m just enjoying the end credits
Making my famous sweater soup
@hannah make sure you use a spoon to get that scum off. gotta have clean presentation
@hannah Don't forget to take out the bay leaf
@hannah I have a related question you might know the answer to!
I have inherited a Dale of Norway wool sweater ca. 2002. It was stored somewhere very dry and now feels incredibly itchy at the neck. I let it soak in warm water + Eucalan "Delicate Wash" then blocked it out to dry for a few days.
Still wiry and itchy at the sleeves, cuffs, and neck.
What next? Check with a witch for curses on the item?
@Z washing again with more Eucalan or even a hair conditioner could work, or just wearing it a bunch of times.. or it could just be an itchy wool or one that doesnt agree with you
@Z @hannah I wear an undershirt with a high neck under itchy sweaters, because I can't deal with that.
@JohannaMakesGames @hannah me too, but the high [tab-like] collar defeats this countermeasure. I'm going to do more conditioning as recommended and maybe a wool shaver on that part to trim the poky-outy fibers

@hannah
Did it make the soup taste any sweeter?

Reminds me of a bedsheet that had the text "Sweat dreams" on it. Lovely English spelling/pronunciation 'rules'...

@hannah Steeking is absolutely terrifying, well done!

@hannah

Woo Hoo! A TEN in the Knitting Olympics!

@hannah steeking is definitely something I've been avoiding! I've had to cut my knitting once because I put a leg on backwards on a baby grow and that was harrowing enough. Good job for taking the plunge!
@hannah it looks incredible, go you!
