Raven667@georgetakei maybe that was some boondoggle but there are a few ways that the DoD could spend like that which i think people can understand, 1) the DoD operates a global grocery chain in the commissary, which provides subsidized food for service members amd their families, so a better comparison would be to Kroger or another grocery, and 2) they try to serve more premium food to service members who are on deployment, esp in the Navy, and moreso depending on how difficult the assignment is, eg submarimes. Unless they can show this was for the civilian leadership skimming id be skeptical of the headline alone

Fuck the subs that hide and let the others die, fuck the navy way offshore thats hard to target, fuck the special forces that hit and run, but the most of all is fuck the rich that send the poor of all aspects to die so they can make more money. Cutting $500 MILLion in food budget on which ~50 million ppl depend on, is worth it to them to give the warrior princess Kegseth $93 BILLion to spend on luxury food & furniture. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the picture of his glorified "hard as nails warrios" snuggling in comfy cuddly chairs.
