It’s incredible how rich the well of AI critique is. Every day I come on here and read new, nuanced, takes that make perfect sense. Meanwhile the boosters seem to be working from the same pitch deck since day one.

@fasterandworse

Funny how our perspectives differ, I see the #antiai rhetoric increasingly departing reality.
Because the antagonists never use #Ai, at least consciously, they construct their own mythology. Which truth be told, is sometimes funny.

IMHO It's counter productive because activism to be credible, needs to be based on facts.

@n_dimension @fasterandworse “a friend” wrote this and I think it might be a bad take, but it also highlights one dimension in which critics willfully disengaging from AI makes it more likely that we end up with regulation that concentrates power

Fine, I’ll Write About AI

Hidden inside the "AI safety" and regulation debate is a threat to computational freedom.

The Assumed Real

My initial scan shows its actually not a bad article.
I will examine this post in greater detail when I have more time. Thanks for the link!

@fasterandworse @james

I really liked this article.
It avoided the tribalism of #Ai good/bad
And focused on what's important.

What's the right way to #regulateAI

Its about computational freedom!
