The x86 edition of Windows 7 was the last revision of Windows capable of running classic 16-bit games and software. It's also so much easier to run and maintain than Windows 9x/NT/2000 or even XP. I'll need to explore this further for my retro collection! 😉

@dfx Windows 10 x86 can run 16-bit software as well. Even DOS software, although Microsoft really doesn't want you to. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/ntvdm-and-16-bit-app-support

The NT Virtual DOS Machine is a legacy Windows feature available, though not recommended, on Windwos 10.

@arktronic Uhhh... okay, that is good to know. Thanks!
