cobalt is thoroughly worn out, tired, achy, and ecstatic about the Gogol Bordello concert last night! To get a bit of the energy from the show, here is a short video clip I shot while the band did a very tiny bit of their most famous song Start Wearing Purple. Sound up up up!

This was about the 2 hour mark of high energy music that had the band and audience on their feet dancing the whole time. Also note I was right next the the ever-widening moving crowd vortex of mosh pit dancing. My granddaughter actual stood behind me to make a cage of sorts every time I was slammed into. Phew! It was fun but I must admit I kept trying to inch over to my right a few inches every time I saw an opening.

Almost all music was new music from their CD out a month. One of the rare times all the new music was thoroughly embraced and no one calling out for the standards! #GogolBordello #GypsyPunk #Phoenix #Tempe #Concert

@cobalt123 did you wear purple?

@afreytes Ah, no! The obligatory all black. Actually I made sure to wear the most comfortable, tactical clothes I had. From 8:40 pm to 11:40 pm in the same zone of about 4 sq feet trapped in the crowd but happily quite close to the band. I never saw anyone who wasn’t actively dancing, nodding, clapping or singing along. It’s a really fun time.

Very thankful that every ten minutes or so we had a great cool pocket of air/ventilation passing over. I think I lost 3 pounds sweating from the workout.

@cobalt123 they are so high energy. Cool that you got to go see them!

The first time I heard them I was driving through Atlanta (US) listening to their community radio. I was hooked and when I got home bought the CD.
