@arstechnica It doesn't feel safe because it isn't. The US is not a safe place for folks to visit right now.

never mind US airports are struggling without TSA as part of the partial gov't (DHS) shutdown

Travelers are waiting hours at airport security as unpaid TSA agents stop showing up for work

Many TSA agents, who are not getting paid due to the partial government shutdown, have stopped working. That means long waits at airport security.

@arstechnica

its a failure of the conference organizers if people STILL cannot particpate meanigfully remotely.

something something airborne disease vectors AND what was that word that starts with "I" insufferable... no... ignorant .. no.. incompentent ...no those are all things that people are who dont practice #inclusion

@arstechnica who the hell wants to visit USA in this day and age?
@arstechnica I'm pretty sure this is how most people felt when they wanted to go to the Olympics in 1936 in Nazi Germany.
@arstechnica @siracusa I live in SF and I'm not attending GDC because the dummies that run the conference eliminated the Expo-only pass and that's been the most valuable part for years because too many of the sessions are sponsored. I'll be at the local hotel bars networking instead.
