Circus Lane 1. A mews street, built for chauffeurs and staff of the big houses of Royal Circus. It's also one of the most photogenic streets in Edinburgh.

Hidden house. I often drive past this house, hidden behind its white wall, and it's always seemed fascinating and mysterious. It's very tricky to get a satisfying photo though. This seems about the closest so far.

For #FensterFreitag #WindowFriday a photo from the dim, distant past: the dome of the Rila Monastery in Bulgaria, taken in March 1970 using my #Werra 1 camera and #ORWO NP20 film.[EDIT: I'd forgotten how starkly black and white this place was!] I was working in Sofia and we were on our way to Thessaloniki for an Easter break. This and many other early negatives were severely neglected for the ensuing 30 years or so!

This is part of the first of two rolls of #StreetCandyATM400 I ended up with as part of a large film purchase. No idea what to expect, except not much! Think I got a bit more than that. Generally lots of grain, poor definition. I used EI 250, and just for weirds added a red filter.

Ruben@carusb these are all beautiful, never should have sold my MX. (Reason a few years back: rising processing costs, not wanting to do dev at home anymore, environmental concerns. All still valid, but I do miss it..)
@ruben You are absolutely right on 2nd count! I have regretted almost every camera I've sold. (This is probably not true if I sat down and worked it out, but the only cameras that I can remember selling straight up, are cameras I regret selling!)
I think the environmental damage from film photography is probably pretty small. My 1 litre bottle of HC-110 lasted 6 years. In 10 years I've maybe bought 2 litres of Rapid Fixer. In those 10 years I've driven around 100,000 miles...

@shom That's about 12 miles away from us, usually less than half an hour. I had a spare hour or so while a family member had a medical appointment. I (almost) always enjoy visiting Stratford... except when hordes of visitors descend on the town in summer!
@carusb hahaha! I always feel that other folks should also enjoy lovely places that I enjoy... just not when I'm enjoying them.
@shom Yes... I remember with some pain our frequent family holidays in Cornwall when I was young (father had a cottage on the Lizard peninsula), when we used to complain bitterly about the tourists. It was years before that recollection made me squirm!
