@lizkecso I've had a standing desk for 15 years and I rarely stand at it, but I'd recommend one to anyone because the best thing about a standing desk isn't that it allows you to stand. It's that it allows you to fine tune the height of your desk so that it's perfect for whatever you're doing.
If you're looking to spend as little as possible or want something with a bit of modularity, Ikea has a low-end version of a standing desk that can be raised by a hand crank. I bought a child's standing desk at Ikea for my mother-in-law and it's plenty sturdy.
Standing desks don't cost all that much anymore. There are a ton of them out there. I'd expect not that much differentiate them from each other anymore. The one thing you should be aware of before getting one is that how heavy and difficult it is to move one of the standard sized ones.
