@wdlindsy This was a known problem with self-described "Dominionists" in Bush II's orbit, people who believed it was their job to bring about the events described in Revelations.
I remember being told off in Leftist circles when the PLO initially claimed responsibilty for the 911 attacks, when i said that Bush's acolytes would be rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of starting a war in the Middle East.
"That would never happen, there are all sorts of checks snd balances to stop that."
Now, those checks and balances have either been demolished or sidelined, or are routinely ignored, and a new generation who believe it is their job to bring about the end of days are advising the President of the country with the world's biggest military.
And we will all pay the price.
